Jonathan Schaelchlin grew up on the border region of South Texas and Northeastern Mexico. His parents moved there in the early 70’s from Pittsburgh to be missionaries into Mexico from the southern border area of Texas. Jonathan returned to his home town in Western PA in the late 80’s to attend Geneva College with his wife Lisa and be a part of the NBCA Church family. In 1994 Jonathan and his wife responded to the call of God on their lives and relocated to Brownsville, Texas, and took on pastoral duties at Word of God Church. There he worked in youth ministry for 9 years and the Senior Pastorate for 7 years. Pastor Jonathan and his wife were also involved in Missionary work and Christian education, leading their church’s private school from 2004 to 2009, and pastoring a small church in a landfill in Matamoros, Mexico. Eight years ago Pastor Jonathan and his wife, along with their family, came back to our area and once again began serving his church and eternal family. Today he is the Church Life & Discipleship Pastor here at NBCA.
